Goldfish Swim School-New Rochelle
“From the very beginning, Scott was absolutely invaluable ; he is among the best financial and legal professionals that we have ever worked with.”
Goldfish Swim School was an ideal Opportunity Zone project, bringing a critical life skill—Water Safety—to an economically challenged area going through phases of revitalization. After two years of meticulous pool construction and facility improvement, Goldfish New Rochelle now employs over 60 people—and it is still growing—and offers an advanced career trajectory to many young professionals. With over 2000 kids enrolled on a weekly basis, the school is already in the top ten in student count across the 130 schools operating across the national franchise system.
As investors and business operators, we have opened countless investment funds and structures, yet we were new to the Opportunity Zone Fund structure and its myriad of requirements. We were referred to Scott to help assist with the exploration of the project's suitability. From the very beginning, Scott was absolutely invaluable; he is among the best financial and legal professionals that we have ever worked with. Scott's vast knowledge of the intricate business requirements across the lifecycle of an Opportunity Zone fund and project, from formation through fundraising and then operating the business, was confidence-inspiring and ensured our Goldfish project will be a successful investment from all angles. We have directly referred Scott within our business network and the reviews--and gratitude--from our peers only reinforce the high "value-add" that Scott contributes to each engagement.
